J'ai assisté à ma première retraite en avril. J'ai apporté évidemment trop de projets mais j'ai pu toucher un peu à presque tout. J'ai commencé ce projet un soir où j'étais un peu fatiguée.
J'avais vu ce modèle il y a plusieurs mois, je voulais l'essayer. À la guilde, nous avons fait un échange de "fat quarters" au début de l'année. Ceux que j'ai obtenu étaient en plein dans mes couleurs. Je leur ai ajouté un tissu gris foncé pour le fond et voilà !
Anecdote: J'avais tracé des lignes de repère pour piquer avec un crayon s'effaçant au fer. Et, contrairement à mon habitude, j'ai décidé de repasser mes hexagones avant de piquer. Résultat: les lignes ont toutes disparues. Paresseuse, j'ai décidé de piquer "à l'oeil".
I went to my first quilt retraite back in April. I bring too much projects but was able to touch almost everything. I started this project one night when I was a bit tired.
I saw that pattern sevral months ago. At the guild, we did a fabric swap of fat quarters in the beginning of the year. The ones I got were my favorite colors. I added a dark grey for the background and that was it.
Story: I previously traced all quilting lines with a chalk pen disappearing with the iron. And, unlike what I'm used to do, I decided to iron a bit my hexies prior to quilt them. And guess what: all my lines have disappeared. I was lazy, I decided to eyeballed them when quilting.
